Biography
Sobel Aziz Ngom is the incoming CEO of Tostan and a committed social entrepreneur championing youth empowerment, inclusive education, and systemic change across Africa. He began his journey at Ashoka Changemakers, supporting over 2,000 young African social entrepreneurs, and later founded Social Change Factory (SCF), a civic leadership hub reaching more than 50 cities across seven countries. SCF’s flagship television program, “Voice of Youth,” showcased a thousand young innovators to an audience of over 20 million people. Sobel also spearheaded the Youth Consortium of Senegal (CJS), an influential alliance of 18 youth organizations that has impacted the lives of 200,000 vulnerable young people and forged trailblazing public-private-youth partnerships. Recognized by global leaders—from Barack Obama to Ursula von der Leyen—Sobel has served on UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited Global Leadership Committee and as a technical advisor to Senegal’s Ministry of Youth, Jobs, and Entrepreneurship.
