Biography
Sobel Aziz Ngom is the Executive Director of Tostan, an organization with over 30 years of experience advancing community empowerment through human rights–based education in West Africa. Since late 2024, he has focused on strengthening its regional impact. A social entrepreneur committed to youth empowerment, he began his career at Ashoka Changemakers, leading the Africa Hub connecting 2,000+ young social entrepreneurs. In 2014, he founded Social Change Factory, active across seven Sahelian countries, whose flagship initiative, The Voice of Youth Show, reached over 20 million people. Appointed in 2018 to UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited Global Leadership Council, he later founded the Senegal Youth Consortium, impacting 200,000+ young people. From 2023 to 2024, he served as technical advisor to Senegal’s Ministry of Youth. At 35, he has 15+ years of experience, has led teams of up to 50 people, mobilized over USD 30 million, and holds degrees from SupdeCo (Dakar) and Wagner College (NY).
