Solange Bandiaky Badji

Biography

Dr. Solange Bandiaky-Badji is the President and Coordinator of the Rights and Resources Initiative, a global coalition of over 200 organizations advancing the rights of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro-descendant Peoples. She previously led RRI’s strategy in Africa and spearheaded RRI’s Gender Justice program. Before RRI, she was with PartnersGlobal, where she led programs on access to justice and peacebuilding. She has also worked as a regional expert on gender and climate change for the Africa Adaptation Programme (AAP) and the UNDP Gender Team. Solange holds Masters in Environment and philosophy at Cheikh Anta Diop University/Senegal and a PhD in Women’s and Gender Studies from Clark University/ USA.
