Sonja Betschart

Biography

I am a passionate social entrepreneur, Ashoka Fellow and Forbes 50 over 50 Member. I am also the Co-Founder of WeRobotics, a social impact organization that amplifies local expertise to multiply sustainable solutions for development, aid and climate, driven by local actors and supported by emerging technologies such as drones, data and AI.

Together with my colleagues at WeRobotics and the Flying Labs Network, we co-create a proven and replicable model to successfully localize and shift power at a grassroots level (we call it “Glocalization”). Our model supports locally-led organizations with knowledge exchange, leadership opportunities and connections, creating a self-sustaining movement for systems innovation.
