Biography

Susan Brown, a senior advocacy, policy, and communications expert, has provided strategic advisory, advocacy, policy, and communications support to various international organisations in sustainable development, gender, and public health.

Before joining UNDP, she was director of Public Policy Engagement at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (2016-2022), director of Global and Regional Policy, Head of the Policy and External Affairs Cluster at WWF International (2005-2016), a print journalist (2000-2005), a senior advisor in the Australian Federal Parliament (1994-2000), and Coordinator, North Queensland Conservation Council (1993-1994).

The Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions and Geneva Environment Network acknowledged Susan as “Inspirational Woman in Geneva Working for the Environment” (2016). She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Governance and Policy-Making (Geneva Graduate Institute) and a Bachelor in Social and Environmental Assessment and Policy (RMIT University).
