Biography

Teresa de Miguel is a multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Mexico City.

She’s the head of video at the Associated Press Climate & Environment team, overseeing spot news and in-depth features, and she continues to shoot and edit videos and short documentaries across Latin America.

Before the AP she was a multi format journalist for the Spanish newspaper El Pais in Mexico, covering from migrant caravans to presidential elections and environmental issues.

She was part of the project 'Southern Border: America’s Unknown Border,' in collaboration with El Faro, recognized by the Gabriel Garcia Marquez Foundation as Best Coverage and by the LATAM Digital Media Awards as Best Digital Journalism Project.

Previously she was the AP’s head of video in Mexico and a New York correspondent for the Spanish news agency EFE.

Her independent short documentary Kemonito: The Final Fall is streaming on Netflix and was selected at over a dozen festivals worldwide, including DOC NYC.
