Biography
Dr. Bansal is a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Business Sustainability at the Ivey Business School at Western University (Ontario). She holds three honorary doctorates (Hamburg, Montreal, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam). She is currently a visiting fellow at Green Templeton College at the University of Oxford, and delivering the Clarendon Lectures for the Saïd Business school. Bansal founded and continues to lead Innovation North (www.innovationnorth.ca), which brings systems innovation to corporations. She also founded the Network for Business Sustainability (nbs.net) and Ivey’s Centre for Building Sustainable Value, each of which she led for over 15 years. She researches the nexus of time (short-termism), space (globalization) and scale (size) in business strategy, in order to advance sustainable development. She has been researching business sustainability since she completed her doctorate in 1996 at the University of Oxford.
