Biography
Timer Manurung a more-than-two-decades NGO activist who have a background on forestry, economic, and law. After spending years of 8 years of investigating and exposing illegal logging, including campaigning for excluding illegal timber from the market which one of its impact were the EU – Indonesia agreement on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance, and Trade (FLEGT), he join the WWF Indonesia's Javan rhino conservation project in 2010-2013.
He established Yayasan Silvagama in 2010, that then transformed to be Auriga Nusantara in 2014, as an environmental data-driven advocacy group. He leads Auriga Nusantara to be a prominent NGO in Indonesia, set collaborations with the government, and joining collaborative effort such as MapBiomas Indonesia and TraseEarth.
