Biography
As Director of Strategic Communications, Tolu oversees communications development and implementation for the Ford Foundation's 11 regions and 13 programs. Over the course of her career, she has led integrated communications teams across industries and issue areas, including: international advocacy, gender justice, climate and sustainability, tech and startups, entertainment, media, influencer engagement, events, and more. Prior to Ford, Tolu worked at Sunshine Sachs, BerlinRosen, and DKC supporting clients including Global Citizen, Red Nose Day, The Weather Channel, Lyft, TOMS' historic End Gun Violence Together campaign, and driving communications for New Yorkers Against Fracking and Raise the Age. She has helped build thought leadership platforms for corporate executives, philanthropic leaders, and celebrities including Tamron Hall, Tina Brown, entrepreneur Adam Lowry, and Ken Burns. Tolu received her BA from Columbia University and an MPA from the London School of Economics.
