Biography

Walter oversees Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors' advisory and management practice. He also leads client engagements with foundations supporting health, community development, education and entrepreneurship. As part of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors' impact investing practice, he advises investors on portfolios to generate both social and financial returns. He has been interviewed by national publications including The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times and regularly serves on panels of philanthropic experts. To help Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors achieve its strategic and operating goals, Walter develops and oversees implementation of all processes for grantmaking programs and reporting to clients.

Previously, Walter served as a program officer at the New York Community Trust, the nation’s largest community foundation, where he conducted special project grantmaking and monitored and evaluated programmatic activities.

Walter holds a B.A. in American History from Columbia University and is a board member of the Business Outreach Center Network, which aims to help minority entrepreneurs access resources to launch their businesses. He is the proud parent of two children.
