Biography
Wawira is the Founder and CEO of Food4Education, a social enterprise creating the blueprint for school feeding in Africa. F4E feeds nearly 500,000 children daily and has provided 90 million meals since opening its first central kitchen in 2016.
She is the winner of the prestigious 2024 Skoll Award, and Food4Education was a 2024 Audacious Project winner. Wawira has also received the Elevate Prize and the Lipman Prize from the University of Pennsylvania. She was named a 2021 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, was the inaugural recipient of Cisco’s Global Citizen Youth Leadership Prize in 2018, and was recognized as the 2021 United Nations Kenya Person of the Year.
Wawira holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the University of South Australia.
