Biography

Yael builds and develops global, diverse teams in support of a more just and equitable world. She brings 20 years experience in social impact, spanning organizational strategy, evaluation, and partnerships. She currently serves as VP of Partnerships, Programs, and Grantmaking at the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that hosts Wikipedia. In this role, she ensures that the Wikimedia ecosystem, including Wikipedia volunteers, affiliates and partners have the tools, resources, and programmatic support they need to thrive. Previously, she built and led strategic partnerships teams for Africa-based social enterprise tech startups (BRCK, Viamo) and served as Associate Director at social impact consulting firm FSG. She received her postgraduate degree from St. Cross College, University of Oxford and her undergraduate degree from Wheaton College. She is deeply committed to justice and equity, and seeks to lead by centering structurally marginalized voices and experiences.
