Biography

Dr. Aparna Hegde is a Stanford and Cleveland Clinic trained, internationally renowned Urogynecologist. She is the founder of NGO ARMMAN, which creates scalable mhealth based programs to impact maternal and child health in 27 states of India (reach: 57 million women and their children and 480,000 health workers). Dr. Hegde is Associate Professor (Hon) and founding Head of the Department of Urogynecology at Cama Hospital, Mumbai, India’s first University-based Urogynecology Center of Excellence. Dr. Hegde is Chair of FIUGA, the foundation arm of IUGA (International Urogynecology Association) and Chair of Publication Committee of IUGA and member of the Editorial Board of International Urogynecology Journal. Dr. Hegde is an accomplished researcher, an NIH grantee, and a pioneer in the field of 2D/3D pelvic floor ultrasound with over 75 publications. Dr. Hegde was listed by Fortune Magazine as one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders in 2021 (15th spot), and awarded the Skoll award (2020).
