Biography
Esta Soler is Founder and President of Futures Without Violence, a national organization advocating for equitable racial, health, justice, educational and economic policies, as part of its mission to help survivors and communities heal from violence, particularly gender-based violence, and to prevent violence from happening.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Soler and her team led efforts to secure direct support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and for children experiencing trauma and abuse, as well as for the nonprofit advocates who support them. Soler has called for a New Deal for Working Families to create a social safety net for the most vulnerable Americans, who bear the brunt of the pandemic’s costs and dangers.
Soler was instrumental in advocating for passage of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and under her leadership, FUTURES drives education, policy development, and awareness campaigns to reduce gender-based violence.
