Project ECHO will equip a critical mass of 350,000 clinical care providers and public health workers in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to prepare for and respond to the spread of the virus, with a focus on saving millions of lives and protecting the world?s most vulnerable communities. When the pandemic subsides, ECHO is committed to working with national governments and community stakeholders to ensure continuation of newly-established programs to continue improving health systems and remaining part of a sustainable, global effort to combat epidemics at all levels of global healthcare systems, including training paraprofessionals, such as community health workers, who will be critical to detecting new cases and sharing virus prevention strategies in remote villages.
