Mo(bile)mentum: Accelerating Mobile for Development
Thursday, April 11, 2013
Session Description
The ubiquity of mobile devices makes it possible to instantly connect farmers to markets, deliver quality health care to the hard-to-reach, flip traditional education and extend basic financial services without building banks. Disruptive platforms – data, instrumentation, payment— challenge donors and implementers to embrace and keep pace with the vast opportunity mobile technology holds. Despite project and infrastructure investment, development actors must navigate pilot proliferation, gaps in evidence and lack of sector coordination. Explore and debate how to successfully take advantage of these ever-improving platforms to fulfill the mobile promise.
