Supporting India’s Poverty Alleviation Agenda beyond COVID-19

Wednesday, April 1, 2020

Session Description

The Development ecosystem in India is evolving rapidly and is emerging as a fertile greenfield of innovative and ambitious nonprofits who are taking on the country’s enormous problems with a sense of urgency. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, poses some serious risks, that threaten to unravel most of the progress of the past few years.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Tata Trusts and The/Nudge Foundation are pleased to host this virtual ecosystem event as part of the 2020 Virtual Forum to focus attention on the changing landscape of the Indian development sector. This event will provide an insightful deep dive into the Indian nonprofit sector, showcasing bright sparks from the region, but also the grave challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic poses and build a case for the need for support and big bets into the ecosystem.

Speakers/Panelists:
* Arnav Kapur, Lead Philanthropic Partnerships, India and South Asia at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
* Shloka Nath, Head, Sustainability and Special Projects, Tata Trusts
* Sudha Srinivasan, CEO, The/Nudge Centre for Social Innovation

We hope you can join us for this dynamic conversation, and we look forward to seeing you virtually.
