Biography
Ari Johnson, MD, serves as CEO of Muso, and Associate Professor at the University of California San Francisco, with the Institute for Global Health Sciences. The co-recipient of the 2021 Charles Bronfman Humanitarian Prize, Ari trained at Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at the University of California San Francisco. He has published peer-reviewed articles and essays in the fields of health systems design, infectious disease, and socioeconomic determinants of health. Together with Malian and American co-founders, he supported Muso to design and build Rapid Care, a solution for early, universal access to care. Rapid Care communities have achieved and sustained the largest and fastest improvements in child survival on record, in both peaceful areas and conflict zones. Muso provides rapid care to more than 600,000 people, and partners with the governments of Zambia, Cote d'Ivoire, and Mali on national healthcare reform.
